Halloween is the only time of the year when it’s socially acceptable to get a little creepy. If you’re heading to a Halloween party with friends or simply handing out candy to trick-or-treaters at home, these drink ideas will help you add a little bit of horror to your day. No one has to know there’s nothing scary about the taste of these creepy cocktails.

Bloody Syringes

Add some gore to your regular favorites with 2 cups of raspberries, an unused plastic syringe, sugar, and a strainer.

Start by using a food processor or blender to puree the raspberries and then extract the seeds using a fine mesh strainer. Next, mix the puree with ¼ cup sugar over low heat until it thickens and becomes a dark red color. Finally, fill the unused syringe with the mix and place it inside your cocktail.

Works best with light-colored cocktails such as Margaritas, Vodka and Soda, Gin and Tonic, or Screwdrivers.

Brainy Shots

Who wants some brainzzzz? Your friends definitely will with these brain hemorrhage shots that are equal parts repulsive and delicious. You’ll need clear shot glasses, vodka, Irish Cream Liqueur, and grenadine syrup.

Begin by filling ¾ of each shot glass with vodka. Next, pour some Irish Cream Liqueur in a small dish and use a straw to slowly transfer small amounts of the Irish Cream into the shot. Finally, add a splash of grenadine syrup to the top. The grenadine will seep through the Irish Cream making the brain hemorrhage more realistic.

This recipe also works well with Peach Schnapps instead of vodka and green food coloring instead of grenadine syrup.

Creepy Crawlers

If you’re more into gross than scary, head to the candy section in your nearest store and grab the creepiest Halloween candy that you can find.

For a bloody martini, combine cranberry juice, vodka, pineapple juice, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Garnish with floating eyeball candies. For a green and wormy drink, place gummy worms on the bottom of a highball glass and fill with ice. Pour rum, lime-flavored soda, and two drops of green food coloring and stir. You can even garnish with some hairy spiders around the rim.

Look for Eyeball gumballs, gummy worms, or gummy fingers. They work the best!
