Fall is finally upon us! Girls go crazy with their oversized chunky sweaters and boots, while guys revel in football games and fantasy teams. The very mention of fall brings pumpkin spice latte freaks to their knees. Most people wait all year for pumpkin spice varieties to hit the shelves.
With the many ways to enjoy the flavor of pumpkin, here are a few popular pumpkin cocktails just in time for the fall.
Pumpkin Pie Martini
2 tbsp. finely ground pecans
1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 oz. vanilla vodka
1 1/2 oz. dark rum
2 tbsp. pumpkin puree
2 tbsp. heavy cream
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground ginger
Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
On a shallow plate, combine ground pecans, sugar, and cinnamon. Wet the rims of two martini glasses and dip into pecan mixture. Set aside.
Fill a large cocktail shaker with ice and add vodka, rum, pumpkin, cream, sugar, cinnamon, and ginger.
Shake vigorously then strain into prepared martini glasses. Sprinkle with a little nutmeg and serve.
Pumpkin Spice White Russian
1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 oz. heavy cream
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. coffee liqueur
Whipped cream, optional
Chocolate syrup, optional
Combine pumpkin pie spice and heavy cream and shake. Fill a rocks glass with ice and pour in vodka, coffee liqueur and heavy cream mixture. Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup if desired.
Pumpkin Pie Shooters
3 tbsp. pumpkin puree
¼ cup pumpkin pie spice coffee creamer
½ tsp. vanilla
2 oz. whipped cream vodka
Marshmallow fluff, optional
Graham cracker crumbs, optional
Dip the top of your shot glasses in marshmallow fluff until the rim is coated. Next, dip the coated rim in graham cracker crumbs until marshmallow fluff is completely covered. Add the pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie creamer, vanilla, and whipped cream vodka to your blender. Blend until smooth. Pour pumpkin pie shots into graham cracker rimmed shot glasses.
Boozy Pumpkin White Hot Chocolate
1/2 cup white chocolate chips (or chopped)
2 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 oz. Kahlua or 1/2 oz. Bourbon
Whipped cream and caramel for topping, optional
In a saucepan over low-medium heat, melt the chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of the milk, whisking often (about 3 minutes). Once melted, add the rest of the milk, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice. Stir vigorously.
Pour a small amount of the hot chocolate into two serving glasses, add one ounce of Kahlua OR one-half ounce of Bourbon. Top off with hot chocolate, and stir. Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce and more pumpkin pie spice (optional).
Pumpkin Pie Sangria
1 bottle sweet Moscato
1/2 cup pumpkin pie mix
24 oz. mango juice
1/2 cup butterscotch schnapps (you can use pumpkin pie or whipped cream flavored vodka)
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 large apple sliced
1 large sliced orange
Add all of your ingredients into a large pitcher whisk or mix well and drink! (Tastes even better after it soaks in the fruit and flavors overnight)
