Whatever you need to do to beat the heat this summer, make sure you are poolside and fully equipped with a variety of refreshing poolside cocktails to sip on. A dip in the pool during the summertime can be an ideal way to cool down, especially when the temperatures start to reach triple digits.
Here are 5 delicious, easy-to-make poolside cocktail recipes that will keep you hydrated as you try and escape the brutal summer heat. And for those dedicated calorie counters, we also included a cocktail recipe that is easy on the calories, but loaded with flavor.
Poolside Cocktail #1 – Beer-garitas
1 cup frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
1 cup tequila
1/2 cup orange liqueur
1/2 to 1 cup cold beer
1. Stir together first 3 ingredients until well blended. Fill 4 medium glasses with crushed ice. Pour limeade mixture evenly into glasses. Add beer to taste.

Poolside Cocktail #2 – Strawberry Lime Champagne Cocktail
3 tablespoons fresh strawberry purée (yield from about 2 large berries)
½ tablespoon lime juice
⅓ – ½ cup pink (or regular) champagne, prosecco or other sparkling wine, well chilled
Additional strawberries, lime wedges and mint sprigs for garnish (optional)
Combine 2-3 cubes of ice, fresh strawberries, and lime juice in a blender.
Mix the strawberry purée with the lime juice, and pour it into a champagne flute.
Carefully top with the champagne and garnish before serving.
Poolside Cocktail #3 – Cucumber Lime Punch
1 or 2 trays of ice
2 liter of Diet lemon-lime soda
1 12-ounce. can frozen limeade
1 cucumber, sliced thin
fresh lime wedges for garnish, optional.
In a large pitcher or bowl, add ice. (The more ice you add, the more watered down the drink will be as it melts, of course)
Add soda and frozen limeade.
Add sliced cucumbers and lime wedges.
Stir together until the limeade melts.
Poolside Cocktail #4 – Skinny Limeade
1 ½ ounce silver tequila
7 cups cold water, divided
2 teaspoons lime zest
6 tablespoons Truvia (or any artificial sweetener)
⅔ cup fresh squeezed lime juice (8-10 Limes)
Lime wheels for garnish (Optional)
In a saucepan bring 1 cup of water, lime zest, and Truvia to a boil. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Meanwhile, juice the limes. Add the silver tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and the remaining cold water to a large pitcher. Stir well and serve over ice. Garnish with optional lime wedge
Poolside Cocktail #5 – Cilantro Margarita
1 teaspoon packed cilantro leaves, washed and removed from stems
1/2 lime, cut into quarters
1 teaspoon raw sugar or agave nectar
2 fluid ounce. silver tequila
In a 12 oz. glass, muddle together cilantro leaves, lime quarters, and sugar until lime juice is released and cilantro is bruised. Pour in tequila and gently stir.
Add ice to 3/4 full and top with seltzer. Gently stir once more and serve.
